As part of our commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and high-quality lift solutions, Hoistway is seeking a motivated Service Engineer to join our Service & Repairs team. This is a hands-on, field-based role supporting our clients with expert maintenance, repair, and refurbishment services. 🔧🏗️
Scope of the Role
As a Service Engineer at Hoistway, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, repairs, and modernisation works on lifts and associated equipment. You will ensure strict Health & Safety compliance while providing exceptional service and technical support on site.
This role plays a key part in maintaining Hoistway’s reputation for reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs
- Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on lifts and associated equipment.
- Diagnose faults and perform repair and modernisation works efficiently.
- Ensure safe and reliable operation in line with industry standards.
Health & Safety Compliance
- Conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with LOLER, PUWER, BS EN81, and Building Regulations.
- Follow company and statutory Health & Safety procedures at all times.
Client & Team Liaison
- Provide regular updates to clients and internal teams on service progress.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues.
Administration & Reporting
- Complete all mandatory paperwork, reports, and service records accurately and on time.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle to required standards.
Continuous Improvement
- Support service improvements, efficiency initiatives, and best practices across the team.
Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Service Engineer, ideally within the lift/elevator or building services industry.
- Solid knowledge of relevant Health & Safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Strong fault-finding, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
- Full UK Driving License required.
