NEW – Social distancing lift signage

As part of our on-going commitment to the safety of all of our customers, we are delighted to specify, suitably clean and fit low tac appropriate social distancing signage to the floors within your lifts. Allowing passengers and colleagues to travel safely up and down within the building, following social distancing regulations.

Compliance with social distancing guidelines will become an ever prevalent implementation of the ‘back to work’ protocol moving forward, and our aim is to make this transition as easy and safely as possible for all of our customers and work teams involved.

We can supply and fit these signs at the fantastic price of £295.00 plus VAT per lift.

Not only can we supply and fit the low tac social distancing floor signage to your lifts, but, if you let us know how many lifts you have operating within the business, we can send out our lowtac 150 x 300mm Covid safety instruction stickers for FREE, to highlight the key methods of staying safe while traveling in the lift car.

Behaving oddly in lifts

Ever wondered why you sometimes feel uncomfortable standing in a lift? Or why they can often be very awkward places? the silence can be unbearable at times.

Many of us use lifts or elevators several times a day but we never really question why this interesting social space has such an odd etiquette.

This fascinating article by William Kremer about the psychology of people in lifts is definitely worth a read!

Olympic Gold for Guideline

Guideline Lift Services is pleased to announce that it was the main supplier of lift and escalator maintenance and first response services (Olympic Park) to the London 2012 Games.

Guideline was instructed to ensure 68 lifts of varying types and 16 escalators across the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in the main stadium, aquatics, main media centre, velodrome and International Broadcast Centre were reliable and always up and running during the ten-week period when the Games were on.

The company understood the need to minimise downtime and ensure uninterrupted lift availability so placed ten of its expert engineers and technicians across the site so someone was always on hand, 24 hours a day, to provide a complete first response and breakdown service.

Fortunately, due to careful planning and the expertise of Guideline’s specialist technicians, the lifts and escalators consistently functioned throughout the Games with minimum downtime or disruption.

Simon Jepheart, Key Account Director, said: “Working as the main supplier of lift and escalator maintenance was an excellent opportunity and prestigious contract for Guideline to win. Our technicians worked above and beyond to ensure all areas of the Queen Elizabeth Park were accessible during the Games.”

Guideline is one of the UK’s leading independent lift companies specialising in the seamless installation, modernisation, maintenance and repair of all types of passenger lifts.

New Contract Wins!

We are pleased to announce that in February of this year we won 400 units with MITIE Justice in the southern region.

More recently in April of this year we secured a further 99 units including lift platforms and stair lifts in various sites. We are working closely with Stannah, specialist manufacturer of stairlifts, on these projects.

As a result we have employed new members of staff to cope with the workload. This is great news for us as it adds diversity to our company and brings in new talent to keep us up-to-date and innovative.

Celebrating 40 years

Founded in 1972 by Peter Jepheart and Bob Deevey, we are now one of the leading independent lift companies in the UK and we are pleased to be celebrating our 40th birthday.

Since our start-up in the humble surroundings of a one-room office, a lot has happened over the years. In fact, our kick-start to stardom was a maintenance award of 80 units by one company in 1974. We were the only independent company at the time that could undertake this type of work on a disabled lift.

Over the past 40 years we have had to adapt and comply with the changes in regulations, recommendations and standards, particularly in regards to Health and Safety. Customer expectations have also increased due to the commercial, social and technological change in the industry.

There will inevitably be more and more changes over the coming years that we will need to adapt to. But by working closely with our partners in the independent manufacturing and supply side of the industry, we will continue to provide our clients with an innovative and technical service for the next 40 years!
